Signing On To Your Longview System

To sign on to your Longview system, you must know the authentication method required by your company. Currently, the Longview system supports the following authentication methods:

Signing on to the Longview application Administrator

To Sign On to the system, complete the following steps:

1. Deploy using Longview Launcher by launching the component through a ClickOnce link. A Longview Sign On dialog displays, as shown below:

   

2. Do one of the following:
   1. If your organization uses Windows Authentication, select Windows, and click Sign On to sign on to the application.
   2. If your organization uses Longview authentication, select Longview, and type in the username and password specific to the application as provided to you. Click Sign On to sign on to the application.
   3. If your organization uses Single Sign-On (Web), select Single Sign-On (Web) then click Sign On to sign on to the application. This authentication method is only available when launching through Longview Launcher.
3. If you are deploying through Longview Launcher, Longview Application Administrator opens.

Signing on to the Longview Analysis and Reporting application

To sign on to the system, follow these steps:

1. Deploy using Longview launcher by launching the component through a ClickOnce link.
2. A Longview Sign On dialog opens. Depending on your deployment method, the appearance of the dialog may vary, however, it should look similar to this:

   

3. Do one of the following:
   1. If your organization uses Windows authentication, select Windows, and click Sign On to sign on to the application.
   2. If your organization uses Longview authentication, select Longview, and type in the username and password specific to the application as provided to you. Click Sign On to sign on to the application.
   3. If your organization uses Single Sign-On (Web), select Single Sign-On (Web), then click Sign On to sign on to the application. This authentication method is only available when launching through Longview Launcher.

Longview Analysis and Reporting opens.

Signing on to the Longview Server Manager application

To sign on to the system, follow these steps:

1. Deploy using Longview Launcher by launching the component through a ClickOnce link. A Longview Sign On dialog opens, as shown below:

   

2. Do one of the following:
   1. If your organization uses Windows Authentication, select Windows, and click Sign On to sign on to the application.
   2. If your organization uses Longview Authentication, select Longview, and type in the username and password specific to the application as provided to you. Click Sign On to sign on to the application.
   3. If your organization uses Single Sign-On (Web), select Single Sign-On (Web) then click Sign On to sign on to the application. This authentication method is only available when launching through Longview Launcher.
3. If you are deploying through Longview Launcher, Longview Server Manager opens.

Signing on to the longview Journal Entries application

To Sign On to the system, follow these steps:

1. Deploy using Longview Launcher by launching the component through a ClickOnce link. A Longview Sign On dialog opens.

   

2. Do one of the following:
   1. If your organization uses Windows authentication, select Windows, and click Sign On to sign on to the application.
   2. If your organization uses Longview authentication, select Longview, and type in the username and password specific to the application as provided to you. Click Sign On to sign on to the application.
   3. If your organization uses Single Sign-On (Web), select Single Sign-On (Web) then click Sign On to sign on to the application. This authentication method is only available when launching through Longview Launcher.
3. If you are deploying through Longview Launcher, Longview Journal Entries opens.

Signing on to the Longview Workflow Designer application

To sign on to the system, follow these steps:

1. Deploy using Longview Launcher by launching the component through a ClickOnce link.

2. A Longview Sign On dialog opens. Depending on your deployment method, the appearance of the dialog may vary, however, it should look similar to this:

Do one of the following:

• If your organization uses Windows authentication, select Windows, and click Sign On to sign on to the application.
• If your organization uses Longview authentication, select Longview, and type in the username and password specific to the application as provided to you. Click Sign On to sign on to the application.
• If your organization uses Single Sign-On (Web), select Single Sign-On (Web), then click Sign On to sign on to the application.

Longview Workflow Designer opens.

Signing on to the Longview Tax Application

Your Administrator will provide you with a link to the Longview Tax Dashboard, from which you can open Longview Tax.

To sign on to Longview Tax:

1. Click the link provided by your Longview Tax Administrator. The Sign On page opens in you browser.

   

2. Select the Authentication method provided by your Longview Tax Administrator.
3. If you selected Longview Authentication, enter your user name and password. Otherwise, continue to step 4.
4. Select the appropriate group from the Group list.
5. Click Sign On. Your Longview Dashboard home page opens.
6. Click Launch Longview Tax. Longview Tax opens.

Note: The first time you launch Longview Tax, you may be prompted with a security message asking whether you want to run the application. Click Run. The tab that appears in view when you open Longview Tax depends on the products you have purchased.

Resetting your password from the Sign On dialog

If you have forgotten your password, or you want to reset your password, you can do so from the Longview Dashboard Sign On dialog.

Note: The Forgot your password? link displays only if the Enable Password Reset parameter is selected in Longview Server Manager. For more information, see the Longview Server Manager Guide or contact your System Administrator.

To reset your password:

1. From the Sign On dialog, click Forgot your password?. The Password Reset Request dialog opens.
2. Enter the email address that you want the password reset link sent to.
3. Click OK. A confirmation dialog appears.
4. Click Back to Sign On Page. The Sign On dialog comes into view.
5. Open the password reset email (sent to the email address provided in step 2), and click the provided link. The Password Reset Request dialog opens in Your browser.
6. Complete the following fields:

   1. New Password: Enter your new password. Passwords cannot contain any of the following characters: double quotation marks ( " ), pipes ( | ), or spaces (  ). If your company enforces password complexity, passwords must meet all password complexity restrictions, including (but not limited to) the following:

      • The password must contain at least one uppercase alphabetical character (A-Z), one lowercase alphabetical character (a-z), one base 10 digit (0-9), and one non-alphanumeric character.
      • The password must be a minimum number of characters in length.

      • The password cannot contain the whole User Name, First Name, or Last Name of the user, in either uppercase or lowercase.

   2. Confirm Password: Reenter your password.

7. Click OK. You can now sign on to the Longview system using your new password.
