Allocations

Longview provides a standard application that can be used to allocate shared expenses to any dimension within the Longview system such as entities, departments, and products. The result of the allocation process helps business users analyze the performance and profitability of individual entities, departments and products and helps in making more accurate, informed decisions.

Longview’s Allocation application provides the following functionality:

  • Ability to define allocations to be executed within the system using an easy-to-use graphical user interface.
  • Each allocation rule has the following parameters:
  • Source data area and ability to define exceptions;
  • Target data area and ability to define exceptions;
  • Allocation methods: 1-Pattern (e.g. head count, sales, square footage, FTE), 2-Rate (i.e. 10%) and 3-Direct Charge (i.e. one to one allocation).
  • Ability to allocate only a percentage of the source data area. This is useful when the source data area needs to be allocated using one driver and the remaining source amount allocated using a different driver.
  • Ability to define the allocation order.
  • Ability to allocate to any dimension within the Longview system.
  • Ability to view the details of each allocation providing full data transparency.
  • Allocation Proof report which helps validate the results of the calculation
  • Ability to view financial statements with and without the allocated amounts.
