You can use the interim allocation report to view the allocation of the interim deferred expense to each temporary difference.

Interim Allocation report (SA0804R / SA0804S / SA0804G)

This report shows the calculation of deferred tax expense by temporary difference based on the allocation of deferred tax expense plus discrete tax amounts automatically calculated in the system for Return to Accrual adjustments, Taxing Authority Audit Adjustments, and Tax Impact of Enacted Rate Changes.

Note: For more information on reports, see "Working with reports".

You can use the interim allocation report to view the allocation of the interim deferred expense (element MSP_NetRDfdTIP_ASC) for each temporary difference account under DEFTAX from the source data in the “ETR and Discrete Items Interim report (RF0803)”.

This report contains the following symbols in the Elements dimension (across):

To review the Interim Allocation report:

In the Tax Provision navigation pane, click Reports.
Do one of the following:
1. To view all regions report
  1. Expand All Regions
  2. Use the drop-down list or the symbol selector to select the appropriate entity.
    For more information, see “Using the Symbol Selector”.
  3. Click SF0804R – Interim Allocation. The report opens in the workspace.
  4. Regions with which the entity has nexus are displayed as columns above the interim elements. The total of all regions is also displayed.
2. To view the separate regions report
  1. Expand Separate
  2. Use the drop-down list or the symbol selector to select the appropriate entity.
    For more information, see “Using the Symbol Selector”.
  3. Click SF0804S –Interim Allocation.
  4. The report opens in the workspace.
  5. Regions with which the entity has separate nexus are displayed as columns above the interim elements. The total of the separate regions is also displayed.
3. To view the group regions report
  1. Expand Group
  2. Use the drop-down list or the symbol selector to select the appropriate region.
    For more information, see “Using the Symbol Selector”.
  3. Click SF0804G –Interim Allocation. The report opens in the workspace.
  4. The selected region is displayed as a column above the regional groups within the selected region. Below each regional group the interim elements are displayed.
Review the account values for each appropriate element.
